"Rich, graphic-style illustrations are the backbone of Hurley’s latest title. In the same vein as Nest and Hop, this selection is based on the life cycle and behaviors of a frog, spanning the time between tadpole and adulthood. KIDS BOOKS
On the path from textile designer to running my own art studio full time, I authored and illustrated a series of kids books, published by Simon and Schuster. With just one word on each page and vivid illustrations, these books highlight the beauty of ordinary life for animals (Nest, Fetch, Hop, Ribbit, and Beehive) as well as humans (Everycolor Soup and Skyscraper).
When my debut, Nest, was called “stunning” in a starred review from the School Library Journal, I knew that I had stumbled onto something that I would carry with me for the rest of my life. Since Nest, I have spent most summers working on kids books. By 2018, both Nest and Hop had been reprinted as baby board books. All versions of the books can be purchased separately on Amazon.com or at your local bookstore.
